“Rio is an amazing hunting dog and an affectionate home companion—my loyal buddy on the farm and in the office. After a good run, he’s perfectly content to curl up by my desk while I work.”
"Ghost has surpassed our expectations as a gun dog and as an addition to the family. Having Zane and Neal to help me through the entire process was critical, and we are happy we chose Punto Blanco for our gundog."
"We’ve had Goose just over a year; he’s about 2 1/2. Last season, I hunted him about 25 days on wild & preserve birds. He performed admirably, pointing and holding coveys, backing, and some retrieving. At home, he is a complete love, sweet and always putting his nose on your arm. He has been great with our 6 yr Setter and 2 yr Cocker.”

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Unfortunately, no. We only offer young dogs that range from newly started to finished; most purchasers choose pups that are "started dogs" at about 12-20 months old. We work closely with prospective clients to specifically match dogs with their permanent homes. Some clients wish to acquire dogs for companion purposes only and will receive fully trained, non-hunting dogs that are well-mannered, obedient, and have undergone extensive off-lead training in "real-world" public spaces (retail spaces, malls, and dog-friendly venues like outdoor breweries and restaurants.
As mentioned above, dogs will be trained to a specific level. For example, a newly started dog could be reliably obedient, e-collar transitioned, and fully socialized as an excellent companion and steady-to-flush bird dog. Whereas an older mid-level started dog might have more bird exposure, is steady to wing and shot, and is capable of retrieving. So the cost of a dog is not fixed, and the range is wide depending on many factors, including the dog's level of training, their age, and their level of enthusiasm to hunt. Dogs sold as companions only (non-hunting dogs) cost considerably less than those trained as gun dogs.
Our foundation dogs are selected based on very specific factors. They are proven to be intelligent, stylish in the field, healthy, and able to locate birds in varied and extreme conditions. They have been shown to naturally honor/back, retrieve, and work as a pack or independently. Their pedigrees, proven progeny, and ability to hunt long and hard are something rarely found. A notable differentiator in the Punto Blanco Setter line is that our foundation (and all dogs for sale) have successively hunted 7-10 species of wild birds across many states, including Montana, North Dakota, Arizona, Nebraska, Michigan, Maine, West Virginia, Georgia, and Virginia. Dogs acquired from us are steadied after being proven on wild birds, with all formal training conducted by NK9Training® using Handler Capital® methods, which are grounded in the HuntSmith Silent Command System. The dog's mindset and capacity to perform as a bird dog and a lifelong companion is proven. Many of our clients often want a dog they can hunt with immediately, either as part of an existing string or alone, and that is precisely what they will get. So when we say started dog, you will see what you will be getting, unlike rolling the dice and choosing a 7-8 week-old puppy.
First, give us a call to discuss the availability of purchasing a dog based on your requirements. If you decide to purchase a dog, you will be asked to submit paperwork and a deposit. In addition, we will explain the process of matching our dogs to owners to make sure they fulfill their genetic purpose and proudly serve as a family companion.
